Jewel Box Residence

This enchanted residence began with an exotic concept- living inside a jewel box. Inspired by the rich textures and patterns from the owner’s travels in Africa and Europe, we incorporated uncommon materials and exclusive textured finishes to achieve a rare ambiance. Every selection and detail chosen is precious.

JB Noble customized its entirety- from the leopard carpet runners to the 30-foot long bookcase in the hallway. Throughout the interior, dramatic Italian stones interlock with calm woods accentuated with brass elements. A playful color palette dances throughout, and yet, it does not overwhelm. A complex boldness invites a discovery in every detail. Plush textiles entice one to admire in awe.

Crocodile leather, mother of pearl, embroidered silks, and glass beaded walls adorn the interior surfaces. Ceilings were treated with finesse in areas where natural light would influence the material’s glisten and shadow. To create unity, brass accents were embraced providing visual rest.

The client’s collection of whimsical art is generously framed with fine fabrics and sculptural lighting. In the master suite, the ceiling and main wall, treated as a volume rather than a surface, are bedazzled with thousands of glass beads adhered to a platinum leaf background. The surrounding walls are completely draped in silk wall upholstery. Tucked in the side hall, a collection of Gray Malin photographs showcase Maurice- the imaginary concierge of the Parker Palm Springs Hotel- leading the eye to an impressive hand-painted mural to complete the story.

Sparing no expense and with meticulous craft, a jewel box was created. Unexpected and dramatic luxury achieve a brilliant display in this over-the-top design without compromise.
